At the Legislature, legislation has been introduced that could negatively affect the PERA Fund. The Minneapolis Employee Retirement Fund or MERF has been horribly mismanaged for years. City officials have approached the Legislature to absorb this fund into PERA. At our March board of Directors meeting, the PEPSA Board voted to oppose any legislation that would negatively affect the PERA Fund, and we have offered our support to the PERA Board of Trustees regarding this.

We are also reaching out to individual legislators to fully inform them about this issue and ask them to protect the integrity of the PERA Fund.

Please help us by contacting your local legislators and state your opposition to any bills regarding MERF that would adversely affect the PERA Fund.
